Congress Rep. Walden Bello (Akbayan Party) was recently named chairman of the Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs. At the international level, he asks the support specifically of the Filipino migrant groups and lobbyists as contributors in reforming the migrants’ agenda.

Babaylan-Denmark (est. 1997) is a member of Babaylan-Europe (est.1992). It is a network of Filipino women. The word babaylan comes from pre-colonial Philippines, and referred to empowered, wise and just women who were natural leaders in the community. Babaylan-Denmark celebrates the successes of Filipinas in Denmark, and works on several fronts: political, cultural-educational, and social to improve the situation of Filipinas in Danish society.
