Au Pair Orientation in Bryrup, Silkeborg
Babaylan-Denmark’s Au Pair Orientation held in Bryrup, Silkeborg last Saturday, October 10, 2009- was once again another successful event! The first in Midtjylland, the orientation was held to reach out and get together the au pairs in the region. Of course, the assistance of Babaylan-Aalborg, contributed to its big success.
The day started with a ride on a Veteran’s Train, its last trip for the season. Everyone enjoyed the scenic view on its way down to Vrads Station Restaurant. The owners, Misse & Mads showed us the old restaurant with its old look well kept.
The local newspaper Midtjylland Avis was around to document the event. It was printed on the 12th of October with a whole page featuring the event.
A guided tour around the wooded area was also a part of the program. The Au Pairs learned the history of the place with its stunning view complete with the beautiful colours of fall. Lunch was served at Velling Koller, a 4-acre family resort, where our orientation was also held.
The orientation was very much appreciated since it was the first one organized in this region. The Au Pairs were able to start their networking and shared what they have learned during their stay in Denmark. They hope that this kind of event will continue on a regular basis so they can be updated and get connected with their fellow kababayans.
The day was full of activities which everyone enjoyed. Surprise dance numbers were also prepared, parlour games, karaoke and endless fun. I was just like one big family reunion!
